New pleasure pier, Redondo Beach, California

The "pleasure pier" was built south of Wharf Number One in 1916 and lasted until 1928 athough damaged by a storm in 1919. It has also been called the "endless" pier because it made a rough circle and returned to the beach. It was built in place of Wharf Number Two, demolished the same year. The pier rebuilt after a fire in 1988 is reinforced concrete. The publisher's number on the divided back of this card is 855.
