The pavilion stands artificially alone as seen from across Pacific Avenue and El Paseo. This building had shops and restaurants as well as the 4,000-seat Mandarin Ballroom on the second floor. This was the second pavilion, replacing the first in 1907. It was also called the Redondo Beach Auditorium or Pavilion Auditorium, and starting in 1946 operated as Texas Jim's Redondo Barn. The building was demolished in 1960, and the street shown here became part of the new harbor in 1961.
