The pergola at Hotel Maryland, Pasadena, California
The Van Ornum Colorprint Co., Los Angeles, California
This view is from under the pergola looking up and forward. Pillars support a trellis covered with ivy, and at the bases of the pillars beside the walkway are flowers. The Maryland's first building was started in 1903; after a fire in 1914 it was reopened the same year; it was razed in 1937 with only a part of a wall remaining in the 1990s. The publisher's number on the divided back of this card is B75. The publisher only used this name from 1904-1918, but the contributer started business in 1908, narrowing this card's date range from 1908-1918.
