Theo. Sohmer, Los Angeles, California
The divided back of this postcard carries an advertisement for the Cawston Ostrich Farm in the message space, the logo of the contributor, the sequential number of the publisher, and a stampbox. It is untraveled. The reference to "Jiggs and Maggie" is most likely to a pair of ostriches, but they must have been namesakes for the popular comic strips and books "Bringing Up Father" that led to a movie with those main characters. "Col. Roosevelt" would also have been an ostrich, but again a namesake for Theodore Roosevelt, the 26th president of the United States (1901-1909). The "Black Bottom" was an energetic dance popular at the time this card was made.
