Fossil Hall, Los Angeles Museum, Los Angeles, California
Photographic paper: Defender
Exhibit cases and reconstructed mammoth bones as well as other fossil bones fill a room in the science wing. The original Museum of Los Angeles County was built in 1913 in the newly named Exposition Park and given exclusive rights to remove remains from the La Brea Tar Pits. This is a Real Photo Post Card with a silver-based image developed directly onto postcard backing. The "Defender" logo in the stampbox on the back defines the period during which this Real Photo Post Card could have been produced--1910 to 1920 (with a couple of years of further shelf life).
