This picture represents an exhibit in the California State Exposition Building, according to the back of this card. A hot-pink flower rises from a forest floor. There is no attribution for the production of the card. The description also explains that this "plant (Sardoces sanguinea, Torr.) is found at altitudes of from 4,000 to 9,000 feet in the Sierra Nevada Mountains." It is found on the edges of melting snow.
