The Virginia Hotel stands on the left, and on the right is the bathhouse with its Greek facade and twin towers and flagpole behind, where the salt-water pool was located. The viewpoint is from the Pacific Ocean, where a calm sea sends low waves toward a few people on the beach (strand). On the back are both the title and an advertisement for Tilton's "100-Mile Trolley Trip." Tilton's trolleys operated from around 1908 to 1912.
