The sign over the portal reads: "Hoffman Apartments and Rooms." There is a balcony on the third and top story of this building, and a small balcony between the overhang and the sign. All the people on both balconies and in front of the doors are facing the camera as if for a portrait. On the back is a promotional paragraph stating that the hotel is "one block from the ocean, facing Pacific Park." A. Pomeroy Hoffman is "owner and manager."
