The Lafayette opened in 1929, designed by Arthur and Cecil Schilling in the Art Deco style. The apartments on the left, the Campbell Apartments, were built in 1928 (here seen from the rear), designed by Parker O. Writ and Francis Gentry in the Spanish Baroque style. The main part of the Lafayette seen here is the 1948 addition along Broadway, in the International style. In 1952 Hilton joined the three buildings into one hotel.
