Dear Sir:
Do not ship us any more oranges. They are all frost bitten that we receive, three-fourths of which we are obliged to throw away.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock.

C. S. Diehl, Esq.,
Manager, Wester Associated Press Co.
San Francisco, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
I have just wired you as follows:
Sun, utterly disregarding contract, notifies us today intention do without Associated service. Has, with San Diegan, made arrangement for United Press. Must Union start evening paper or can it, for present at least, pay amount one evening paper paid for dispatches?

I feel inclined to start an evening paper, but first want to secure a franchise for an electric railroad, which is now before the trustees, and I also want to see what is going to be done by the receiver of the California National Bank, who holds the stock of the Sun.

The Sun people have acted in a very shabby manner with us in this matter. The move is evidently a political one, they having some candidates they desire to boom who they think might be objectional to Mr Spreckels or myself.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock.
