San Diego, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
Herewith correspondence in relation to claim for undercharge on salad oil.
As I cannot find the bill of lading, as there was no contract made to pay any particular rate on the oil, as it was hauled, transferred and delivered and receipted for by us at the rate paid, as there was no obligation or contract on the part of the shipper or ourselves to pay more, and as your inspector in the correspondence attached acknowledges the injustice of the classification, I do not see any reason for paying any undercharge claim. In point of fact there is no undercharge.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock Jr.
