L. Ligon, Esq.
#17 Monroe Street,
San Francisco, Calif.,

Dear Sir:-
Your letter of the 26th inst.
Are you the gentleman who was Chef at the Palace at the time Livingstone resigned? If so, what were you getting and what will you come here for as Chef for this hotel? As you know, our busy season is now about over. The present Chef is to remain until the first of April if I want him, and, if necessary, longer. If after he goes I can make an arrangement with you that will be satisfactory to you and ourselves may desire to do it. Want a worker and a sober man.

Yours truly,
E. S. Babcock Jr.
Manager.
