The image on this white-border card is of oil rigs and supporting buildings below and on a mound, the whole on the slope of a hill. There were several oil companies drilling in the Santa Maria oil fields in the early part of the 20th century, but this site may be the one still occupied in 2014 by the Conoco Phillips Santa Maria Refinery just outside Arroyo Grande, north of Santa Maria. There is an "X" marked in black ink on the higher of two buildings on the side of the dome. This is, according to the back, "where Bob works." The Teich number at the top of the dividing line on the back is A-85889, used to derive the date. There are ink stains from post office markings in about the center, trailing toward the left, and the top left corner is missing.
