Saint Francis Shrine, Glenwood Mission Inn, Riverside, California On Salt Lake Route
Under the pergola in the courtyard is a cement corner piece with a niche and pedestal on which stands a statue of a monk holding a cross. Under the pedestal is a bell. In the title, the phrase "On Salt Lake Route" indicates that this card was probably part of a railroad promotion, as does the promotional message on the back. According to the back, this card was "published for" M. D. Thiebaud, San Bernardino. This card was made in Germany, with the number 70850 upside-down in the stampbox and the publisher's number 5405 beside the dividing line on the back, which also bears a printed advertisement made to look like a handwritten message.
