Lake View Hotel, Elsinore, California

 

 

 

 

Depicted in this black-and-white image is the Lakeview Inn, visible on the right with flowering foliage climbing onto a porch. The original structure at this location was opened in 1887 and called the Lake Dale Hotel. That building burned down in 1894, was rebuilt and subsequently renamed the Lakeview Inn. This building no longer exists, razed in 1970. The card is styled to look like a Real Photo Post Card, labeled with a superimposed typed strip. The back has an engraved drawing of a banner with a postcard booklet for the "Post Card" label. The publisher was only in business from 1901-1915, which, given the divided back, leaves possible dates for this card between 1907 and 1915.
