Dining room in former home of Aimee Semple Mc Pherson, Elsinore, California, Residence of Kaj Seidler
Photographic paper: EKC
In what was known as "Aimee's Castle," pictured here is the dining room of Aimee Semple McPherson's mansion on Lake Elsinore. McPherson was a celebrity evangelist in the early 1900's who is considered a pioneer in the use of modern media such as radio to communicate her message. A realty company in Elsinore offered her a grant of land on the hills above Lake Elsinore's northeastern shore in 1928 as part of a marketing strategy to attract the rich and famous to the area. She accepted and commisioned the architect Edwin Bickman to build a Moorish Revival-style castle with art-deco influences. This is a Real Photo Post Card that must have been produced after 1939, when McPherson sold the property.
