Spanish Art Gallery, Mission Inn, Riverside, California
E. C. Kropp Co., Milwaukee, Wisconsin
The Spanish Art Gallery is located in the Spanish Wing of the Mission Inn, which was designed by the architect Myron Hunt, and was opened in December of 1914. Envisioned as a center for Spanish art by Inn proprietor Frank Miller, it is, according to the back, "typical of medieval halls of Spanish castles, where ancestral paintings were hung. Here are displayed interesting canvases and rare tapestries from Spain and Mexico. The unusual ceiling of golden cloth is especially Castilian." Also on the back are the publisher's number 12434, their logo in the stampbox, and the Inn's logo, the raincross.
