Dear Sir:-- Yours of the 23rd ult., is received. Please advise what Messrs Hadley and Bowers charge you for dinner, room and breakfast. We will certainly give you more for your money than they will, but whether we can accept as low a figure in the total for what you get as they are willing to accept, will depend on what they charge you. Will endeavor, however, to treat you liberally, as we like to have your class of custom.
I note what you say about quail and strawberries, and either Mr. Story or I will accept them.
