Bugg, Walter L.
After being censored, V-Mail (Victory Mail) was placed on microfilm for transport, then developed and blown up to 60 percent of original size for printing and delivery. In this letter, Bugg reports that he is in England missing home. He and Jerry Thomas "read every line" of the newsletter. He asks after Leon Fish and says they are looking forward to many more newsletters.

Dear Dr. Post,
So far I have received News Letters Number five and six. It is hard for me to express my feelings and appreciation upon receiving them. I can say, though, that no one enjoys reading the News Letter more than I do. I want to apologize, too, for not having expressed my gratitude before this.

I have been over here in England with the Air Force for some time now, but like many others, I never tire of hearing of news from home, and of all the others scattered all over the world. I am a bombardier, a 2nd L[ieutenan]t., and am in the same outfit as Jerry Thomas. He and I are the only ones from San Diego who are in this outfit, and we often get together to talk of the home town and all our friends. Whenever one of us receives a copy of the News Letter, he immediately brings it to the attention of the other, and we begin to read every line.

I have been wondering for some time now how I could get in touch with L[ieutenan]t. Leon Fish. Could you help me?

Once again I want to say I appreciate your sending me the News Letter, and I am really looking forward to many future copies.

Sincerely,
L[ieutenan]t. Walter Bugg
