Braisted's stationery is from The Service Club in Fort Benning, part of the United Service Organizations. He has left the Chemical Warfare Service for Aviation Cadet Training, a member of the Air Corps expecting reassignment to Maxwell Field, Alabama in July. He has seen no others from San Diego State College. Braisted was eventually killed on October 28, 1944 while flying in a bombing raid on Cologne, Germany.
