Photograph of Shirley Temple: 20th Century Fox
The homes of Hollywood movie stars have traditionally been the subjects of postcards. Not even the city of this residence is disclosed. Otherwise, many postcards were constructed like this one, with a photograph of the home and an inset of a publicity photograph of the actor. In this case the actor was Shirley Temple (1928-2014), a child star from the age of 3, who became Shirley Temple Black and turned to diplomacy in later life. According to the Curt Teich Postcard Archives, the number in the right lower corner of this card, 6A-H1972, places its publication in 1936. The publisher's number at the top of this card is 810, and the photograph of Temple is attributed to 20th Century Fox.
