Bellefountaine, Michael
This is part of a transcript created by Michael Bellefountaine of a recorded sermon lasting one hour and 25 minutes, from September 1973. The whole transcript and summary, as well a a link to the complete sound file, appear on the Jonestown Institute Web site. Jones claims, "You didn't get created by any anthropomorphic deity, and if you did, he's dead. The god you knew, the Sky god is dead, and he wasn't loving." He ends with, "There's no heaven up there! We'll have to make heaven down here!" The original tape was retrieved by the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation as part of inquiries into the assassination of Congressman Leo J. Ryan on November 18, 1978. Their original review was carried out in 1979. The title and caption here were provided by Fielding M. McGehee III of the Jonestown Institute.
