Chacon's oral history was conducted for the San Diego State University Department of History and digitized by the California Audiovisual Preservation Project (CAVPP). Estelle was one of the delegation committed to Shirley Chisholm at the 1972 Democratic Party Convention along with Margaret Castro, and is mentioned in Castro's oral history. The interview covers a San Diego resident's involvement in the National Women's Political Caucus (NWPC), the Chicano Caucus, and the Democratic Convention in the summer of 1972.
