[Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois]
A three-story building with many windows, a colonnade, a round roof, three turrets and a flag for each turret stretches from one side of the card to the other. Also known as The Venice Plunge (1906) at Second and Windward Avenue, Abbot Kinney's Lagoon Bathhouse featured hot saltwater baths and a glass wall on one side. On the lagoon side, it was between Coral and Aldebaran Canals. This building was taken over by the Venice Union Polytechnic High school in 1911 after its conversion to classrooms by the Venice Military Academy in 1909 and 1910. On the back of the card is the pencil notation: "July 3rd '14 Gus & Fannie." The Teich number at the bottom of the dividing line on the back is A-6395. Although the byline on the back credits the "O. Newman Company," the logo is that of the Newman Post Card Company, using the number F225. The image looks very much like a photograph taken around 1908, but the card leaves out the buildings across the street.
