Miniature railroad crossing bridge, Venice, California

From the viewpoint of one bridge over a canal, the miniature railroad train crosses another bridge in the distance. In between are bungalows on the right. The "miniature railroad" was a small-gauge, open-car railroad that served as the land transportation system for "Venice of America." Constructed by John J. Coit for Abbot Kinney, the steam train ran from Windward Boulevard in a loop that included the canals and downtown areas. Despite the fact that this card has a divided back with room for a message, a message is handwritten here on the front, occupying the sky portion of the image.
