This is one of the colonnades built by Abbot Kinney in his "Venice of America" project that became the Venice neighborhood of Los Angeles. All Kinney's 1904-5 structures were in the "Venetian Renaissance style," with design by architects March and Russell. Columns with figurative capitals were a feature of the style. The publisher's number 6866 and phrase "Printed in Germany" are on the divided back, which has a small left panel with the warning that a return address only may be written there.
