In 1911 the Venice authorities allowed the building of this 60-foot breakwater to protect the reconstructed Abbot Kinney Pier. A 1905 storm destroyed Kinney's 1904 pier and buildings under construction not many months before planned openings. The Tichnor Brothers logo is at the top of the dividing line on the back.
