The Ship Cafe was built alongside Abbot Kinney's pier. Also serving as a hotel, Baron Long's establishment was named the "Cabrillo" after Juan Cabrillo, was constructed to look like a Spanish galleon, and had uniformed crew. Crowds of people both on and off the "ship" are attending its christening. The publisher's number 51016 is on the back along with the phrase "Made in Germany." Along the dividing line is a warning not to write anything in the small left panel except a return address. Also on the back is an abortive attempt at an address, with just the handwritten name "Florence."
