In this "genuine hand painted photograph" (according to the divided back), the viewer sees Santa Monica Bay on the left, with the headlands in the distance, from palisades in Santa Monica. A driftwood fence acts as a guard rail. The publisher's number 1256 is on the left between fence slats. Framing the whole is a narrow gold border.
