This is a Real Photo Post Card showing two cabins and a couple of cattle, one in the foreground, the whole surrounded by trees, with mountains in the background. Named in honor of former Los Angeles Commissioner Joseph D. Radford, the site was opened in 1918 as a "vacation spot," the first year accommodating 250 who were to go in groups for 2 weeks each in the summer. Initially operated under the auspices of the "Playground Department," the camp was later operated by the Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
