Hotel Potter roof garden, Santa Barbara, California
A long wooden deck stretches from the left foreground to a distant entrance on the right. A red tile roof and false fronts are above the walls and shade on the left. Named after its owner Milo Potter, the hotel opened in 1903 and was destroyed by fire in 1921 under different ownership as the Ambassador Hotel. The entrance was at the site of Ambassador Park. The publisher's number 453 is in the front right corner of the image. The back of the card is divided, meaning it was produced in or after 1907; but the publisher began operations in 1912, limiting the card date to between 1912 and 1921.
