Largest grape vine in the world, near Santa Barbara, California
Tichnor Brothers, Cambridge, Massachusetts
In the picture, a grapevine with a large trunk twists upward to an arbor supporting grapes hanging across the foreground. This is La Vina Grande in Carpinteria, one of two giant grapevines that grew south of Santa Barbara, the other an older one in Montecito. From the description, this could be either of the two "largest" grapevines, but the background of this card looks exactly like the background in PC-002-511, labelled Carpinteria. The publisher's number 450 is on the lower left. The contributor opened their doors in 1912.
