Mitchell, Edward H.
Below the title on the left is the name of the hotel manager, Harry D. Clark. The sketch is apparently an architect's rendering signed by Arthur B. Benton, Los Angeles just above the title on the left. On the back, the "hotel that is different" is described as "built of cement, steel, brick and tile and as artistic and modern as money and brains could build, situated on the beautiful site of the historic old Arlington. Illustrated booklet mailed upon request to the Manager." The "old Arlington" had burned in 1909, and the new Arlington sketched here would be destroyed by the 1925 earthquake, razed in 1931. The rose-on-dagger dividing line on the back is characteristic of Edward Mitchell, but in this case is filled with the name of the publisher, which was bought by Mitchell in 1911.
