View from under the vine-covered pergola towards the campanario (here "campanile")--a Mission-style bell tower at the main entrance to the hotel. Under the pergola in the foreground is a woman resting on a porch swing. Printed on the back of the postcard is the following paragraph: "The Campanile, with its old bells follows in outline the form of the bell tower of San Gabriel Mission. The rustic grape arbored pergola is made of eucalyptus and palm."

Perforations on the top edge indicate that it was torn from a booklet. The publisher's logo is on the divided back of this German-made postcard.
