Dear Margaret:
Hope your birthday was a very Happy One. We, Alice & I just returned from a trip to Edith's & Betty's. One day at Hemet Bill took us up to Idllwild[sic] & Lake Hemet. Bttt said they are planning to build a city at the east side of the lake on this lovely flat valley between the mts tops. We went down June 22nd & home from Betty's [...] night the 29th. Alice had to be back for a meeting Tuesday. Apricots were not quite ripe at Hemet. The neighbor who watered for us gave us some before we left and I canned 5 quarts. Wish I had a few more but will try and get peaches. Alice wants to make peach jam.
