Temecula Mercantile, Temecula, California
Original painting: Morrissey, Roy
The descriptive paragraph indicates that this general store was "built in 1890" and was also the "terminal for jerk-line freighters whose wagons moved cargo to isolated ranches and settlements." The fired-brick, two-story building with a porch and false front has two horses tied out front. The painter's signature and copyright symbol are near the right lower corner. Since 2005 the building has been an art gallery and entrance to the Old Temecula Community Theater. A rubber stamp on the back names "Clark's Antiques" with an address. The number in the stampbox on the divided back is 121028.
