In 1909 the Cawston Ostrich Farm, which had its tourist-oriented operation in South Pasadena, bought the two-and-a-half acres they had been renting in San Jacinto for breeding and maintaining birds not on view. Here is a large flock of ostriches standing across a green expanse from the viewer, with palm trees and mountains in the background. On the divided back are the numbers 3433--13880, along with the Benham logo.
