Clifton by the Sea, originally tract homes, was annexed by Redondo Beach in 1913. In this picture, looking south, railroad lines run south along the shore onto Wharf Numbers Two and Three, jutting into the Pacific Ocean. The hotel sits inland on the horizon on the left, far enough away from the sea to escape the ravages of the storms of 1914 and 1915. The publisher's number in the right lower corner is 1433, with damage along this edge. On the divided back is the contributor's logo.
