The top part of the Mill of Banbury Cross with a grass roof sits fronting a pond and surrounded by vegetation. The mill wheel would be on the other side, where the pond emptied beside the building. Terraces are in the background, all a creation of landscaper Robert Gordon Fraser. The publisher's number 426 is on the divided back, and so is their logo in the form of their name and city inside a palm tree as dividing line.
