C. T. Photochrom [Curt Teich and Company, Inc., Chicago, Illinois]
An open vintage automobile drives through the portals of a bungalow court that faces away from the San Gabriel Mountains in the distance. The St. Francis Court was the first bungalow court to be built, designed by Sylvanus Marston and constructed in 1909. It was on the north side of East Colorado Boulevard and the modern North Oak Knoll Avenue. As the pattern for bungalow courts, it had 11 bungalows with separate gardens and driveways arranged around a central court. The Teich number at the bottom of the dividing line on the back is R-34990, from which the date is derived.
