Hotel Vista del Arroyo and bungalows
This rose covered cottage ("Bungalow number one") is a part of a hotel that boasts (on the back of this card) that it overlooks "The Grand Arroyo Seco and Sierra Madre Mountains," perhaps misled by the nearness of a city by the name of Sierra Madre. Running through Pasadena, the Arroyo Seco arises as a seasonal stream from the San Gabriel Mountains. The hotel was opened in 1882, refurbished in 1903, and purchased and made over in 1920 and 1931, then later converted to a federal courthouse. The other side of the card is all advertising.
