[Curt Teich and Company, Incorporated, Chicago, Illinois]
Edwin Cawston began to raise ostriches in California in 1886 and eventually opened this "breeding farm" in Perris, California, to maximize his tourist business in South Pasadena. In both a photograph at the South Pasadena Public Library and this tinted version of an almost identical picture, a very large flock of ostriches mills about in front of a fence in the distance and an even more distant set of hills, with snow-capped mountains behind those. The date "Aug 10 - 1915" is written in pencil at the top of this side of the card. The Teich number A-61513 is at the top of the dividing line on the back, providing the date given. The publisher's number is 527.
