Union Oil Company of California made this series of cards to give to purchasers of their gasoline. The description on the back of the card continues from the title: "Los Angeles City Hall rising to 464 feet is the city's tallest building, and center of a modern civic group. Elevators take visitors to the top of the tower from 10 to 4 week days, where marvelous views of all Los Angeles may be had." The building was dedicated in 1928 and occupies the city block within the boundaries of Main, Temple, First, and Spring Streets.
