The community of Camp Baynham became Camp Baldy in 1906 and then Mt. Baldy in 1951. It is on the border of Los Angeles County in the San Bernardino Mountains and named after the nickname for Mount San Antonio, "Old Baldy" or "Mount Baldy," so designated because the peak had generally been capped with snow. The image here of a running stream that forks in the foreground has been "hand colored."
