Named, like many Southern California spots, for Elias "Lucky" Baldwin (1828-1909), Baldwin's ranches passed to his daughters when he died in 1909. Here a stream dwindles on park-like land as it runs toward the viewer, and a mission bell is across a lawn in a frame. It is not clear which ranch this was, but it may have been Rancho Santa Anita, often referenced as Baldwin's "home ranch," acquired in 1875. There is some staining in the message area on the right and on the left margin.
