Chester Place, Los Angeles, California. Palms and Ivy Geraniums, a walk in California
Chester Place was the oldest gated community in Los Angeles, where wealthy people like oil magnate Edward L. Doheny lived. Immediately south of downtown, it was dedicated in 1899 between 23rd Street and West Adams Boulevard. This became the Doheny campus of Mount Saint Mary's College. The publisher's number on the divided back of this German-made card is 4356. The divided back limits the start of the date range to 1907, and this publisher was only in business until 1915.
