Andrew McNally of map fame established this Queen-Anne style home as the first on Millionaire's Row, Mariposa Street. The house, designed by Frederick Roehrig in 1887, is listed in the National Register of Historic Places that describes its tower as having a "bell-like roof." After McNally's death in 1904, it was subdivided several times starting in 1925. At least two versions of this card were published by Newman, with the number 4521. This version has a divided back that allows only a return address and was made in Germany--hence the misspelling of "private" without the "e," making it into the German equivalent.
