The Alvarado, 6th and Alvarado, Los Angeles, California

 

 

 

 

The Hotel Alvarado (built around 1905) stood at the intersection of 6th and Alvarado Streets, shown at far left. In front of the Moorish-style buiding are palm trees, with the entrance between two projecting wings flanked by turrets. The publisher's number on the back is 4898. Another number is upside down in the stampbox, 60296. The divided back and "made in Germany" message indicate that the card must have been produced between 1907 and about 1914.
