In an illustration signed by Ted Lewy, the Statler Center (as a statement on the back of the card calls it) rises into the sky at the corner of Wilshire Boulevard and Figueroa. It is described at the first Statler Hotel west of the Mississippi, with guest rooms, an office building, and shops on a four-acre site. It was opened in 1952 and went through several name changes before demolition began in 2012 of what was then the Wilshire Grand Hotel.
