Public Library, Long Beach, California
The VanOrnum Colorprint Co., Los Angeles, California
This library was a Carnegie library--that is, built in 1909 with funds from Andrew Carnegie, who was responsible for many libraries in the United States. It stood on Ocean Boulevard at Pacific Avenue, in Pacific (later Lincoln) Park. Fire and a growing collection made construction of a new library necessary, and the new Main Library opened in 1976. The publisher's number on the back is D 26. Also on the back is the slogan, "Reach via The 'Salt Lake Route.'"
